Spoilers-The greatest risk of being part of the bookish community.

So, ever since I started watching booktube, and being a part of the book blogging community, I had been spoiled for the following books.

  • The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Mass (Not very majorly)
  • Me before you by Jojo Moyes
  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer(I had been spoiled for the ships, which I guess does not matter much, as romance is not that important in the series, but I still wish that did not happen.)
  • The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare(I found something about Jace which I wish I hadn’t.
  • Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.

Now, I wouldn’t blame anyone for this. Minor spoilers are an occupational hazard when you are a part of the Bookish community.Very often, it is not easy to talk about a book without spoiling it slightly, and there had been times when it had been my own fault. I sometimes read stuff that have explicit spoiler warnings, out of curiosity.

Do you agree with this? Have any of you been spoiled for books after being a part of the bookish community?

  1. Aw, if you don’t like spoilers it sucks when it happens. I always try to keep it to a minimum, but it is really hard to not tell anything about the contents of the book in question. Personally though, I don’t have any problems with spoilers at all. Sometimes I even want to know some things before I start, just to be sure that I won’t waste money on something that I’d hate if I hadn’t known certain things beforehand (do I make sense? :’)).

    1. I don’t have that much of a problem with minor spoilers as well, it’s just that I find them annoying. However, I wasn’t blaming you or any other blogger for that, I understand how hard it is to talk about a book without giving parts of it away.

      1. Ow that’s alright ^_^ I do understand what you mean though, it can be irritating at times 🙂 It’s really interesting that people can really have such a different opinion about spoiling. I knew someone once who would start to almost scream when he even heard the name of a series or book he was watching/reading.
