Today, I’ll talk about some really hyped up books that did not live up to the hype for me. These are not bad books by any means, and I did enjoy some of them. However, they simply did not live up to the hype for me. Quick disclaimer, just because it did not live up to the hype for me, does not mean you shouldn’t like it. So, I hope my opinions don’t offend anyone, but if they do, there’s nothing I can do about it.
I went into this expecting it to be the best book ever, like so many claimed, and though I enjoyed it, I just don’t get the hype.
I liked this book. I really did. However, people were talking about what an incredible character Amy Dunn is, and how you know she’s a terrible person, but you can’t help root for her…….and I just don’t get it. I don’t like her at all.
This is another book that I really liked. However, it just did not live up to the hype.
This is another book which I liked, but just did not live up to the hype.
Yes. I went there. I really like this book when I read it. However, it did not stick in my mind for very long. And there were so many people talking about how it’s their favorite book, and it just missed that mark for me.
This was my first Neil Gaiman book, and I really wanted to love it. However, I just didn’t. I didn’t think it was creepy at all.
I thought this book had a great premise, and I had heard great thiings about it. However, it fell flat for me.
This book is one I really wanted to like. However, it just failed to do it.
Honestly, the only thing I liked about this book was the Paris setting. I thought that the characters were unmemorable, and I did not find the romance interesting at all.
This is a book I feel kind of bad about not liking as much as everyone else did. I thought it was too fluffy (I guess I don’t get along very well with fluffiness).
So, what are your opinions on these books? What are some of the books you think are overhyped?
I’m sad to see The Night Circus on this list (honestly one of my favorites) pretty much based on the writing and the atmosphere alone. It’s the immersivity of it that I like. It was something I couldn’t get enough of.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you sad. I liked the book. It’s just that I expected something different from it.

It’s alright, not everyone will have the same love for everything so I understand.
